It honors the US armed forces that fought in the Vietnam War who died in service. Maya Lin was the designer of the Memorial Wall. The memorial has more than 3 million visitors ever year. There have been quite a few controversies and some ideas since then have been added. The Vietnam Woman’s Memorial was dedicated on November 11, 1993. March 11, 1822 the memorial design is approved formally. The Three Soldiers statue was presented in 1984.

It’s so original and impressionable. Many people prostest though. It was a very new and modern idea compared to other memorials. This stunning design was created by Maya Lin. She wasn’t anyone special, or an architect. There was a contest, which was who’s design would be the best, and her idea won. Thus, this amazing memorial was born.
