  1. The U.S. Capitol is located in Washington DC. It was created in 1828 by a man named William Thornton. This building is important because it has had meetings for the House of Representatives and the senate for two centuries. William Thornton was a very important person involved with this building. He was the original designer of the us capital building. Some important things to know when visiting it are, it was created by two different people. William Thornton designed it and then Brother Benjamin Latrobe redesigned it after the war of 1812. later on Thomas Walter added to the building.

  2. The U.S. Capitol is Washington D.C. Washington D.C. is located between Virginia Maryland. It was founded in the year of 1790. The U.S. capitol is very important. This is because it is where many important memorials, buildings, and people are or go. For example, The White House is an important building in Washington D.C. An important person involved in the U.S. capitol is President Barack Obama. He is the President of our country. He lives in the White House in the U.S. capitol. Four important things to know when visiting the U.S. capitol are that it is where the president lives, there are a lot of memorials to see such as the Iwo Jima memorial, there are many important buildings such as the White House, and it is the center of our country and government.

The President is Barack Obama. George Washington was supposed to be buried in the capitol but was buried in Mount Vernon instead. The dome on the capitol is made up 8,909,200 pounds of iron.
