Dedicated on May 2, 1997 by President Bill Clinton, the monument, spread over 7.5 acres (30,000 m2), traces 12 years of the history of the United States through a sequence of four outdoor rooms, one for each of FDR’s terms of office. Sculptures inspired by photographs depict the 32nd president alongside his dog Fala. Other sculptures depict scenes from the Great Depression, such as listening to a fireside chat on the radio and waiting in a bread line. A bronze statue of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt standing before the United Nations emblem honors her dedication to the UN. It is the only presidential memorial to depict a First Lady.
FDR Memorial is located on the Cherry Tree Walk near the National Mall. It was made in 1955. It’s important because it was made for President Franklin Roosevelt. He was the 32nd president and he sponsered many laws Which got America out of the great depression. It was made by Lawrence Halphin. There are 4 outdoor sections of the memorial that you can walk through. FDR was the only president who was elected 4 times.
It is a 10-foot statue shows him in a wheeled chair; it depicts him riding in a car during his first inaugural. At the very beginning of the memorial in a prologue room there is a statue with FDR seated in a wheelchair much like the one he actually used.

One person involved in the FDR Memorial was President Franklin Delano Roosevelt because it is who the memorial honors. Four important things to know when visiting the FDR Memorial are that it honors the presidency of Franklin D. Located along the famous Cherry Tree Walk on the Western edge of the Tidal Basin near the National Mall, this monument is dedicated to Franklin Delanor Roosevelt, one of our nations greatest presidents. This monument isn’t just for him, however. The monument is dedicated to the times he was in office. There are 4 rooms, each one dedicated to one of his terms in office. The man himself is depicted as a 10 foot tall statue of him in his wheelchair with his dog, Fala.
The 7.5 acres around the monument were made a park on September 1, 1959, and was dedicated to FDR on May 2, 1997. There are 5 bodies of water in the monument. There is a single large drop signifying the fall of the economy during the Great Depression, Multiple stairstep drops for the Tennessee Valley Authority dam-building project, falls and angles signifying WWII, a still pool indicating FDR’s death, and a wide array of the previous bodies made to represent his entire presidency.

The monument is not only for FDR it is also for twelve years of an American history which is in four outdoor rooms. Which each room is dedicated to a person who was in the FDR’s term office.
